Job Title: Packaging Assistant

The packaging assistant with direct supervision assists with the operation of packaging equipment including canning line, pack-out, and keg filling. This is a non-exempt hourly position full-time or part-time. Scheduled hours may vary based on demand. Essential Functions
-Assist with operating of packaging equipment, including canning line, line pack-out, and keg filling according to established SOPs.
-Operate keg cleaning equipment.
-Cleaning and sanitizing of packaging equipment.
-Keg exterior cleaning and stacking.
-Palletizing of empty kegs.
-Stacking and palletizing finished goods.
-Cleaning and organizing packaging area and packaging materials.
-Assist production staff with daily tasks as needed including but not limited to,
-Weighing, measuring, preparing ingredients.
-Ingredient addition, dry hopping
-Logging work in progress batch metrics
This is not an all-encompassing list of duties and responsibilities associates may from time to time participate in additional tasks and duties assigned by management as needed for successful packaging operations.
Requirements
-Entry level-work under direct supervision.
-Able to recognize deviations in process outcomes and report concerns to supervisor for resolution.
-Desire to ask questions and expand knowledge of brewing and packaging sciences.
-Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.
-Attention to detail.
Work and physical environment
This position requires working in a large area surrounded by pallets, heavy items, kegs, shelves, in a brightly lit warehouse. When needed entering a very low temperature storage cooler may be necessary. Operating heavy machinery or being around heavy machinery. The area may be loud from time to time due to cooling equipment, forklift, and heavy items moving around. From time to time, it may be required to work outside to load and unload deliveries this may include wind, wet, or sunny conditions. Employees may be stationary for extended periods of time, may need to position self-up high, reach low, bend back and knees, and enter and exit vehicles. It may be necessary to lift up to 55 pounds to different heights. It may be necessary to use a 10ft ladder or longer from time to time. Slip and skid resistant foot wear and appropriate clothing may be required.
